Dana and Martha offer a variety of different services to cover your every musical need from pit/rehearsal work to cabaret to classical accompanying to arranging and more! Read below about each of the services offered and then contact us to inquire about rates and booking.

MUSIC FOR MUSICAL THEATER

Dana:

• Available as Pit Reed Player (Clarinet, Soprano, Alto and Tenor Saxes), Section Leader, Student Pit Musician Mentor
• Available to do on-the-fly adaptations of needed instrumentation for High School Musical Theatre productions

Martha:

• Available as Pit Piano/Keyboard, Music Director, Audition pianist, Rehearsal Conductor/Pianist, Student Musician Mentor for High school to semi-professional to professional productions
• Have Kawai MP7SE electronic keyboard; will travel
• Shows that one or both of the Mathewsons have played include:

MUSIC FOR OPERA, OPERETTA AND CLASSICAL PERFORMANCE

Dana:

• Available to collaborate with vocalists as an instrumentalist in classical repertoire
• Available to collaborate with instrumentalists in chamber ensembles
• Available to play in community orchestras (Clarinet, Soprano, Alto and Tenor Sax)

Martha:

• Excellent sightreader
• Available to rehearse and coach all types of classical music, sacred and secular, vocal and instrumental, solos and/or ensembles
• Available to perform with solo artists, chamber ensembles, choral groups or other musicians usually with minimal rehearsal requirements

MUSIC FOR CABARET PREPARATION AND STYLING

Dana:

• Available to provide instrumental backup and will assist Martha in arrangements involving instrumental accompaniment
• Available to assist in singer preparation and/or will collaborate with them in performance

Martha:

• Available to assist singers in performance preparation, choice of appropriate material, styling suggestions (all styles from classical to jazz to pop to Broadway to standards)
• Available to transpose songs into appropriate keys, create arrangements of repertoire, and prepare the “Singers’ Book”
• Available to rehearse with them and any additional performers and/or collaborate with them in performance
• Have electronic keyboard; will travel

MUSIC AS ACCOMPANIMENT

Dana:

• Available to accompany singers and instrumentalists on his horns in small ensemble performances
• Available to play his horns in clubs or piano bars

Martha:

• Available to rehearse and coach musicians for audition preparation or for performance
• Available to accompany musicians in auditions for semi-professional or professional opera and musical theatre auditions as well as competitions
• Available to mentor and prepare high school students for college auditions
• Available to accompany choral ensemble rehearsals
• Available to accompany studio recitals
• Available to perform with featured artists in all styles of music from classical to pop to jazz to Broadway to standards

MUSIC WITH BANDS

Dana:

• Available to act as sax section leader in any size jazz ensemble
• Available to sub in musical ensembles on clarinet, soprano, alto and tenor sax
• Available to engage other top quality instrumentalists to create a custom-sized band or ensemble for any occasion

Martha:

• Available to sub on keyboard with big bands

MUSIC IN EVENTS (i.e. BENEFITS, CONCERTS, etc.)

Martha:

• Available to organize musical events for benefits, concerts, etc..
• Available to create an appropriate program of material for the event, should it be seasonal, sacred, secular, for specific audiences, etc.
• Available to prepare the musicians and be the liaison with the performance venue regarding performance details.

MUSIC COMPOSITION, ARRANGING, COPYIST, TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES

Dana:

• Adept with Finale 2003, having logged hundreds of hours in the creation of scores and parts, for everything from piano/vocal scores to small instrumental or vocal ensembles, to big band to orchestral and operatic material. Available to enhance and fill out original scores.
• Available to assist in creation of on-the-fly small group arrangements
• Has composed a setting of “The Navy Hymn” for symphony orchestra and chorus for the 9/11 Memorial

Martha:

• Adept with Finale 2003, especially with piano/vocal scores.
• Available to create on-the-fly arrangements in rehearsal to involve instrumental accompaniment or vocal harmonies and transcribe the arrangements to score.

MUSIC IN EDUCATION

Martha:

• Available to teach private piano lessons to motivated advanced students
• Available to coach and rehearse High School Musical Theatre cast members
• Available to rehearse and perform with students for music competitions
• Available to provide tutoring in musicianship skills to high school students
  who are preparing for a college career in music
